Mr. Federico Palacios began his studies with two important musicians of the average Uruguayan musical world, the Maestros Francisco Martino and Edgardo D' Andrea. During this period, he was loaded with activities that permitted him to acquire prestige and recognition. It is worth the trouble to emphasize his participation as a member and an organizer of the youth symphonic orchestra “Jose Artigas”; First Clarinet Solo at the youth symphonic orchestra of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC); First Clarinet Solo at the Chamber Orchestra of the foundation “InterArte”; he also participates, when needed, at the S.O.D.R.E. symphonic orchestra and permanent member (playing the Second Clarinet) at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Montevideo. It is with the Youth Orchestra of the MEC where he made his first appearances like Soloist and has broadcasted in National Radio and Television.

Later with his studies in France, he acquires his most intense preparation at the National Conservatory of Strasbourg, with the Maestro Denis Tempo.

Absorbing himself in the academic atmosphere, Mr. Palacios is surrounded with a world that had so much to offer in the musical field that was unattainable for him, up to then. There, he develops his technical capacities as instrumentalist, and also he deepens his knowledge in chamber music and contemporary music with the Maestro Armand Angster. These were years that offer him the possibility of growing in an exceptional way that matured his musical talent. As a student at the Conservatory, he had the opportunity to participate in diverse projects with the National Opera of the Rhine, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg (OPS) and in a greater number of chamber music groups. At the same time and in a particular way he has participated in theater projects and has organized and composed the wind quintet “Notias”.

In the same way, he also organized the folk music quartet “Balanço do Morro” performing in France, Germany and Greece. In addition, he also appears with the symphonic orchestra of the CRFM in concerts performing as Soloist in France and Germany. Parallel to this, he attends two seminars with the title “Improvement and Musical Interpretation” in Sermoneta, Italy, with the famous Clarinet Soloist Richard Stoltzman. It can be said that for Mr. F. Palacios, there is a radical change in his musical conception after his acquaintance with the Maestro Stoltzman. This is the reason why Palacios considers Mr. R. Stoltzman as his greatest musical influence that he has ever met.

Mr. Palacios has two diplomas as Clarinet Performer (Uruguay, France) and also has two diplomas of Chamber Music (France), two “Juvenalis” Awards (Uruguay) and a Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra's Award (France).

At the present time he is a member of the Municipal Wind Orchestra of Athens (Greece), he is a professor at the Conservatory “Protoporía” and he continues working intensively in Chamber Music, like Recitalist and Soloist. He has made the premiere pieces of contemporary authors for solo clarinet and clarinet – piano. Mr. Palacios also organized and composed the trio “Corda di Vento” (violoncello, clarinet, piano).

He has developed the ability to offer classical music concerts (chamber music, soloist, orchestra, contemporary music and improvised music) and also traditional music (“Tango” and “Choro” - Brazilian traditional rate -).

As a member of different symphonic orchestras, acting as a recitalist and as soloist, he has performed in concert halls such as: “Palace of Celebrations”, “Palace of the Congress and Music”, “Rohan Palace”, “Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art” and “Mozart’s Hall” of Strasbourg (France), “Benakis Museum”, “Athenaeum” (Greece), “Larrañaga” and “Solís” concert halls (Uruguay) and many others. Recently, he was invited to make the opening concert of the 1st. International Clarinet Festival “Athens, 2008” in which he has made de “Premiere” in Greece of a full program  with contemporary composers from Latin America.

All these elements mentioned above for Mr. Federico Palacios, have made him an unique clarinet player of multiple facets.
