BOSI_SERGIOBorn in a family with musical traditions, Sergio Bosi has dedicated himself to the instrumental practice since his very childhood. He attended the "G.Rossini" Conservatory of Pesaro where, at the age of 16, he obtained his diploma in clarinet with the best marks and congratulations. He also got several grants. Then, he continued to improve by obtaining the "Diploma di merito" from the Accademia Musicale Chiagiana of Siena (in the course of G. Garbarino) and by attending several master classes held by musicians of international fame such as K. Leister, A. Pay and R. Stoltzman.

He immediately brought himself to light among new talents by winning many prizes in international and national prestigious contests of soloists and of chamber music ("Premio Ancona", Trapani, "S. Lorenzi", Trieste, "F. Cilea", Palmi, Stresa, Premio Manta, Moncalieri, "Sanremo Classico", ...).

In 1980, he was the 1st clarinet of the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana of Fiesole. Since 1981, he has been the 1st clarinet and soloist of the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. With this orchestra, he toured in Italy but also in foreign countries. They also did radio and TV repeats for the R.A.I. and Raisat International as well as CD recordings, working with maestri such as D. Gatti, G. Khun, P. Maag, A. Zedda, D; Oren, D. Renzetti.

S. Bosi performed in concert halls of Italy and of the biggest European Centres (Paris, Vienna, Prague, Louvain, Brussels). He recently did a tour in Japan (Nagoya, Kyoto, Mei) as a soloist and with different chamber ensembles. He is also the main artist of several recordings with Arcam - Cambridge, Bongiovanni - Bologna, Mondo Music (EMI) and PH Music Works.

His repertoire ranges from classical repertoire for clarinet to present-day compositions, yet with a particular attention for the Italian music. Besides, his production includes the first complete recording of Phantasiestucke op.22 of Karl Reinecke and several pieces of the 19th century clarinettist and composer, Ernesto Cavallini recorded with Bongiovanni in two monographs.

These recordings brought him critical recognition of international specialised reviews (Fanfare-USA-"an outstanding release", The Clarinet discography-USA- "I would like to hear Bosi in some more wonderful finds", Diapason-France) and of Italian ones (Piano time, I fiati and CD Classica in which the Karl Reinecke CD won the prize "CD del mese" -CD of the month- with the mention "exceptional").

Bosi holds a chair at the "L. D'Annunzio" Conservatory of Pescara.
